Great news, fellow Heron Bay residents! I wanted to let everyone know about an improvement to our main community entrance that all residents will enjoy. Our County Commissioner, Mr. Warren Holder, and the Henry County Board of Commissioners recently approved a traffic signal for the intersection of Highway 155 and Heron Bay Boulevard.
This traffic light will have a positive impact on all of us because it is the main entrance and exit for the community. I am very excited because the traffic signal will make entering and exiting Heron Bay much safer. It will make our morning commute much easier and less stressful because we will no longer have to wait for a break in the Highway 155 traffic each morning.
Helen and I are especially glad that this traffic light will be installed now, before our youngsters begin driving. Spalding is already talking about his dream car, which of course is a super-fast hot rod! While Haley is not as interested in cars yet, I know the time will come. I’m glad to know that the traffic light will bring added safety to my family. Accidents can happen at any time, even to the safest driver, so I am thankful for the added safety of the signal.
The county plans to commence work on the signal in the first half of 2009. Our wonderful community Developer, Minerva Properties, planned ahead when constructing the entrance to Heron Bay and built enough right and left turn lanes that no additional asphalt will be needed to put up the light. This means that the construction work will consist mainly of the actual signal components like the poles, lights and loops. This means that the light will be up in no time!
